Albert Einstein Signed 8.5x11 Letter Gem Mint 10 PSA/DNA Encapsulated 201297
Offered is a Albert Einstein Signed 1934 Letter – PSA/DNA GEM MT 10 – Watch Hill, Rhode Island.
A remarkable piece of correspondence from one of history’s greatest minds. This typed letter in German, signed “A. Einstein,” dates to July 23, 1934, and was written during Einstein’s summer stay in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, shortly after settling in the United States.
Addressed to Theodore Menzel, a fellow scientist and
German-American resident, the letter responds to Menzel’s request for a
personal visit to discuss technical research conducted in Death Valley. In his
reply, Einstein politely declines the meeting, offering instead to answer questions
in writing. His translated words:
“It may well be quite inconvenient for you to visit me here in Watch Hill. I
will be happy to also answer your questions in writing, as far as I can.”
The letter is in very good to fine condition, showing light soiling, minor edge wear, and two file holes on the left margin. It has been encapsulated and graded GEM MT 10 by PSA/DNA, ensuring top-tier preservation and authenticity.
Included with the letter is Menzel’s retained copy of his July 20th inquiry, complete with full English translation—offering rich context to this thoughtful exchange.
A rare and intimate glimpse into Einstein’s early American life, this signed letter is a prized artifact for collectors of science, history, and autograph memorabilia.
