The legendary Jim Thorpe has signed and inscribed this offered vintage 8-by-10-inch photograph. Pictured in his Carlisle Indian School sweater and signed boldly in blue pen. Jim Thorpe autographs are rarely seen offered for sale but almost never seen in photo format. Super Rare opportunity to obtain one of the greatest of all time on an 8x10 inch photograph. Thorpe, one of the first great multi-sport athletes, was an outstanding football player, baseball player, track athlete, and basketball player. Thorpe's victory over Army with his Carlisle Indian School football team is still regarded as one of the greatest sporting events in American history. Thorpe won numerous gold medals at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, but the draconian bylaws of the Amateur Athletic Union resulted in Thorpe's hard-earned medals being stripped. Thorpe has signed this black and white photograph in blue pen and inscribed "1950" in addition to his signature. Thorpe's signature is in fantastic condition, and this signed, and inscribed photo comes with a full letter from JSA.
