Offered is a Mickey Mantle signed and inscribed New York Yankees home jersey replica. The Hall of Fame New York Yankees centerfielder signed his name in black marker under the navy-blue felt interlocking "NY" logo on the front left chest of the Mitchell & Ness Cooperstown Collection replica jersey, and inscribed "No. 7" below his signature. The white flannel jersey includes navy-blue pinstripes, and Mantle's number, "7" in blue felt on the back. The left sleeve features a red, orange, white and blue embroidered patch with the legend "1903-1952 50th Year" around the Yankees baseball bat wearing a top hat logo. When Mantle made his Major League Baseball debut with the Yankees in right field in April 1951, he was assigned uniform number "6", but he struggled at the plate and by mid-season was sent back down to the minors. When he was called back up later in 1951, he changed his number to "7", the number in which the legendary slugger played the rest of his memorable Yankees career. Mantle won the Triple Crown in 1956, when he led the major leagues in batting average (.353), home runs (52), and runs batted in (RBI) (130). Mantle was an All-Star for 16 seasons, playing in 16 of the 20 All-Star Games that were played during his career. He was an American League Most Valuable Player three times and a Gold Glove winner once. Mantle appeared in 12 World Series including seven championships. His number "7" was retired by the Yanks June 8, 1969. This item comes with a Letter of Authenticity from JSA (Z46127).
