Vintage 1905 Philadelphia Athletics A's Yearbook Mack Plank Waddell HOF 191998

The 1905 Philadelphia Athletics yearbook, formally entitled The Athletics, Sketches By Charles Dryden, American League Champions, 1905, is one of the earliest of all team yearbooks. Its 46 pages include a biography and full-page portrait artwork of each A's player, including Connie Mack, Eddie Plank, Rube Waddell, Chief Bender, etc. Very few issued yearbooks predate the 1940s. The few that were issued were special one-time publications, as opposed to the annual team yearbooks of the modern era. This yearbook was issued by a newspaper called The North American to honor the Athletics and to raise money for the players. The back cover reads "This souvenir is presented to the Athletics by the North American, the entire proceeds from its sale to be divided among the players." Charles Dryden was the chief sportswriter for the paper. 6 x 9 inches. The yearbook covers has moderate handling wear, including creasing. The pages are generally clean and bright. In Very Good condition overall. The spine is not intact.
